Big four firm carries out major shake-up at top of the organisation

Accountancy firm PWC has carried out a major reshuffle of the way it runs its operations across the north of England.

The revamp will see the Big Four firm have one head covering the whole of the North including the North West, Yorkshire and the North East.

As a result Iwan Griffiths is to step down as the head of the North West operation after seven years in charge.

Ian Green has taken on the role of regional head for the North.

Ian has been with the firm for over 30 years’; starting his career in audit in Newcastle, then moving to Leeds to join the business recovery service practice.

Having led the practice in the North, Ian then moved to London as the business unit leader of business recovery in 2014 and at the same time joined the deals leadership team.

Ian was born and brought up in Leeds and continues to live in Yorkshire.

He will take over from Iwan Griffiths who was North West Regional Chairman and Ian Morrison who was Yorkshire & North East Regional Leader.

Iwan is moving to a new national financial services role with a focus on the regions and Ian Morrison will continue to sit within the firm’s audit business as an audit partner.

Ian Green said: “I’m delighted to be returning home to the region. I want to continue to build on the work that has been done over the last few years to help the businesses in the region grow using the strength and depth of talent we have across the North.

“I’m determined to create opportunity for everyone in order to continue to build and develop successful diverse teams.”

Iwan Griffiths said: “I have had seven fantastic years as North West regional leader and Manchester office senior partner and feel honoured to have been able to work with such a great team of people.

“During which time we have transformed our business in the North West and have grown from 680 people to now over 1,200.

“Our new office has changed how we work and has become the envy of everyone inside of the firm and many outside and has created another exciting development in our growth story.

“I will miss leading such a great team of people who demonstrate passion, energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.”

Ian Green said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank both Iwan and Ian for their hard work and dedication in the way they have transformed and grown PwC’s regional presence across the North West and Yorkshire & North East.
