Liverpool’s highest profile shopping centre saw a 4.6% increase in footfall over the last 12 months.

Liverpool One also saw a three per cent increase in sales at a time when othershopping centres have struggled.

The owner of the complex – Grosvenor Europe – has also announced the arrival of a new store.

Independent lifestyle and fashion brand Oliver Bonas is to open the brand’s first Liverpool store on upper South John Street.

The brand’s 2,956 sq ft store will offer it ethically-conscious range of homewares, fashion collections and gifts.

It will join the recently upsized Pull&Bear on upper South John Street, adjacent to John Lewis.

Designed by an in-house team the store will be the brand’s first in the Liverpool City Region, joining its 70 stores across the UK. The store will open this autumn.

Grosvenor say 25 brands have signed, opened or renewed their leases at Liverpool ONE since the beginning of the year.

An Oliver Bonas spokesperson said: “It has been our long-held goal to expand our retail footprint to Liverpool, where we believe our curated collections and eclectic designs will prove a hit.

“Liverpool One has a great reputation and a unique appeal with consumers from across the region. We will also be in great company amongst a host of other leading brands, making Liverpool One the ideal location to launch in the area.”

Alison Clegg, from Grosvenor Europe, added: “As one of the leading fashion and lifestyle brands in the UK, we are delighted to welcome Oliver Bonas, alongside the 25 renowned brands that have also committed to Liverpool One to date this year.

“The brand’s strategic selection of Liverpool One, alongside these other openings and significant lease renewals, highlights Liverpool One’s status as one the UK’s leading retail and leisure-led mixed-used destinations.”
