VIRGIN Media Business has today launched its services in Manchester, squaring up to BT as an alternative provider for high-speed broadband.

Virgin said its fibre optic speed broadband is already running in places where BT won't be building out to until at least late this year, including Bury, Gately, Salford and Stockport.
