CHESHIRE woundcare firm Advanced Medical Solutions (AMS) saw its profits fall on the back of 'exceptional' expenses last year but it now anticipates future growth.

The Winsford-based company, which has recently rebuffed a take-over bid from a rival, saw its operating profits after exceptional items fall to £2.4m from £2.7m in 2008.

Over the past year, the company has spent £1.6m in its new purpose-built premises in Winsford as well as an aborted acquisition.
