TRACING its history back more than 2,000 year, Cologne is Germany’s oldest city and its fourth largest.

Although many beautiful gothic and architecturally significant buildings remain intact, the historic city was very badly hit during the Second World War, when around 90% of the centre was destroyed in Allied bombing raids. This has resulted in a mish-mash of architectural styles, where the the traditional German Brauhaser or 18th century perfume house can be  found nestled alongside 1950s concrete resident......for the full story register now for free or login below...
