TheEword reshuffles as revenues jump

SEARCH engine marketing agency theEword has shuffled its senior management to allow founder Al Mackin to take on a more strategic role.

His move from managing director to chief executive comes after an strong year for the Manchester-based firm, which saw turnover rise 50% to £1.4m with a similar level of growth expected to take revenues in the year to April 2012 to £2.2m.

Mackin’s move will see his managing director’s role taken on by current general manager Daniel Nolan.

So far this year theEword has picked up 13 major client wins including law firms  Ralli, Gateley, Pannone and casino operator Genting, and continued working with existing clients, such as Betfred.com.

Al Mackin said the financial results – which also showed a 40% rise in profits –  had “surpassed”  expectations.

“Daniel Nolan has been an outstanding general manager, and with his knowledge of the industry and his experience, I’m confident that he’ll continue to help us drive the company forwards.”
