Appointments: Nichols steps down at Sceptre Leisure; Kuits promotes Chadwick; Jones joins Manchester Camerata’s board

SCEPTRE Leisure, the AIM-listed gaming group, has announced that its founder Brian Nichols is to stand down from the board.

The Preston-based supplier of fruit machines and other gaming products to the leisure sector has said that Mr Nichols will stand down when he reaches retirement age on May 30.

Mr Nichols was a founder of Lotteryking Holdings plc – the initial company in the group – from which Sceptre has evolved.

He has expressed his intention to remain with the company over the next year to ensure a smooth transition.

A statement released to the Stock Exchange said: “The board would like to acknowledge and express its gratitude for Mr Nichols’ tireless effort and contribution to the company’s growth.”

MANCHESTER law firm Kuits Solicitors has promoted Fiona Chadwick to senior associate.

Fiona joined Kuits in May 2005 after qualifying in 2002.

THE owner of web hosting company UKFast has joined the board of Manchester Camerata.

Entrepreneur Lawrence Jones already has a close association with the camerata and will sponsor the first concert of the new season on September 25.

Manchester Camerata chairman, Geoffrey Shindler, said: “We are delighted to have secured the support of Lawrence Jones, whose flair for innovation and creativity in business is so widely recognised.”

Mr Jones said: “An orchestra of the camerata’s pedigree really does deserve a wider audience – with experience in connecting people using the latest technologies I am confident that together with the chairman’s vision and chief executive Bob Riley’s passion, we will make an awesome team.”
