LANCASHIRE housebuilder Kensington Developments has seen its pre-tax profits soar to £2.85m from £194,000 last time.

Newly filed accounts for the year to August 31, 2009, show that the Lytham St Annes firm is also 'optimistic' about gaining planning permission for various parcels of land in its ownership.

But over the same period its turnover has fallen to £15.9m from £21.6m last time which it attributes to a reduction of land sold in the period.
