North West to get special treatment, says Cable

BUSINESS Secretary Vince Cable has revealed the new coalition government has “singled out” the North West, West Midlands, and Yorkshire for special treatment due to the specific economic difficulties faced by the regions.

Speaking to TheBusinessDesk.com, Mr Cable said that while the future of regional development agencies (RDAs) in the areas had yet to be resolved, the three regions would be treated as special cases.

Once again Mr Cable shows his total lack of understanding of the needs of this region and the needs of small businesses. We do not need fine words and fluffy platitudes. We need to see major investment into the region's infrastructure and jobs being secured and created. Every job lost in the region means one less customer for several businesses.
