Telecoms firm launches cloud-based service

WIRRAL telecoms firm Digitel is to create six new jobs following the launch of its Intelligent Network (INET) service.

The company said the Cloud-based service will be offered to SMEs as a cheaper way of speeding up their phone and data networks than having to spend thousands of pounds on their own capital equipment.

Digitel said that the new roles will be created in sales and customer services.

The firm, which was founded 20 years ago by managing director Tom Cullen, is based in Birkenhead and employs 22 people. Last year, it achieved turnover of £3.2m and is forecasting growth of 18% in 2012.

Mr Cullen said: “INET brings together the best technology available to businesses today and will quite simply transform the way in which companies do business.

“It will enable them to work faster, smarter and far more cost effectively than is the case at the moment. Our network will reduce costs, improve operating efficiency and hugely enhance customer experience.

“We are confident that INET is the most advanced communications system for small and medium sized businesses in the UK.”
