Kate Harrison to leave Bruntwood

BRUNTWOOD marketing director Kate Harrison is to leave the family-owned property company to train to become a psychologist.

She is starting a doctorate in psychology at the University of Manchester at the beginning of the new academic year.

Ms Harrison has worked for Bruntwood for two and-a-half years. Prior to that, she had been interim chief executive of city centre management company Cityco and had held marketing positions at Manchester Airports Group, Sainsbury’s and Mars.

Bruntwood chief executive Chris Oglesby said: “I would like to thank Kate for her contribution to Bruntwood over the last two and-a-half years.

“She has been instrumental in leading a review of our brand, refreshing our presence online, building the Bruntwood -sponsored playwriting competition into a national media asset and playing her part in helping Bruntwood to achieve a solid set of financial results in 2010 and 2011.”

He added: “Over the coming months we will be working with Kate on her succession. I would like to wish Kate every success in her change of career.”

Ms Harrison added: “Bruntwood is a fantastic company to work for, with a great brand and I have thoroughly enjoyed working here.

“There is a great team spirit and I will be working with Chris over the next few months to ensure all our marketing plans are delivered whilst at the same time planning for the future. I am really looking forward to starting my doctorate at the University of Manchester.”
