Victrex makes key appointment

LANCASHIRE polymers manufacturer Victrex has appointed a new managing director of its Invibio Biomaterial Solutions business.

The company said Hichem M’Saad would join it on June 18 and  succeed Michael Callahan in the role. Victrex said Mr Callahan would
remain on the Invibio board as leader of its spine business.

Prior to joining Invibio Mr M’Saads career includes 14 years at Applied Materials Inc, most recently as corporate vice president and general manager of its Silicon Sector Group.

He holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has extensive commercial and technical experience globally, in both start-up and mature businesses.

Victrex chief executive David Hummel said: “I am delighted that Hichem is joining Invibio. His wealth of general management and commercial experience in technology driven businesses will enable him to lead Invibio into a new phase of growth and realise opportunities in new and existing market areas.

“He will be a valuable asset to both Invibio and the wider Victrex Group.”
