Appointments: 15 promoted at DLA Piper; JAM ; Downtown & more

LAW DLA Piper has announced the promotion of 15 lawyers across its Manchester and Liverpool offices.

Moving up to legal director are Earle Brady (construction) and Rachel Power (employment) in the Liverpool office, along with Anita Brunst (finance and projects), Claire Edwards (commercial), Emma Mills (employment) and Ciaran Stone (corporate) in Manchester.

Nine lawyers have also been promoted to associate: Hannah Beavon (construction), Gemma Cowap (commercial), Rachel Jones (real estate litigation), Anna Williams (employment), Sylvia Shepherd (real estate) and Poppy Williams (regulatory) in Liverpool and Sarah Armstrong (finance & projects), Sally Penrose (corporate) and Louisa Prest (litigation) in Manchester.

Philip Rooney, the firm’s office managing partner in Liverpool, said: “The North West offices have been very well represented in the firm’s promotions this year which reflects the outstanding talent we have locally.

MANCHESTER-based industrial recruitment specialist JAM has strengthened its top team with the appointment of Karen de Meza as finance director.

She brings more than 25 years of financial and commercial experience to the business and has worked for major organisations including the Royal Bank of Scotland plc and AEA Technology.

NETWORKING and lobbying organisation Downtown in Business has appointed former business journalist Michael Taylor as chairman of its Manchester operation.

It seemed like a natural step to work together with this combined aim.

PROPERTY adviser GVA has announced a string of promotions in Manchester team, with three surveyors appointed to associate level.

Sarah Johnson and Samantha Jones were previously senior surveyors
and Edward Sandring a principal surveyor.

Lizzy Cox and Joel Crossfield have been promoted from senior surveyors to principal surveyors. Adam Wildig and John Burrows from graduate surveyor to surveyor, alongside the promotion of Ian Whittaker and Gregory Archer from surveyor to senior surveyor.

BEN Jaffray has joined DTE Corporate Finance in Manchester as a corporate finance executive.

He previously spent two years with RSM Tenon in its business assurance and advisory department. He  also spent a year on secondment working with the corporate finance team at Armstrong Watson.

RAMSBOTTOM’S Orbis Solicitors has appointed of Mark Nolan to lead its employment department.
 
Mr Nolan, a specialist in discrimination and unfair dismissal cases, was formerly Russell, Jones and Walker in Manchester.
