Brunswick PFI scheme gets nod from Westminster

THE government has given the go-ahead for a £113m, 25-year housing PFI scheme that will transform the Brunswick area of Manchester.The council had to submit a "value-for-money" business case for the scheme, which it said outlined £4.9m of savings for the project. This has now been approved by the Department for Communities and Local Government, meaning Manchester City Council can get on with picking a preferred bidder to run the PFI scheme.The project will see more than 500 new homes built and 650 council houses refurb......for the full story register now for free or login below...
