City to pilot ultra fast broadband

MANCHESTER will be one of the first locations in the UK to test a new ultra-fast fibre broadband.BT’s local network business Openreach said the city was one of eight pilot locations for the new service known as ‘FTTP on Demand’. I should bloody hope so. The state of connectivity in the centre of this City is appalling and I certainly hold BT partially to blame for this parlous state of affairs. Poor connectivity costs business and the economy money. This should have been dealt with years ago. To illustrate, we are in the Boxworks in Castlefield and we can get a maximum of 4Mb per line for our business. Absolutely unbelievably poor.
