PLANT Impact, the AIM-listed agriculture technology group is to cut is roots in the North West by moving to Hertfordshire.

The company, which was founded in Preston in 2003 and floated three years later, is relocating to the Green Enterprise Science Park in Harpenden.

It wants to be located close to the Rothamsted Research Institute, which it is working with on a number of projects relating to arable crop plant nutrition.

The move south will take place from September 1. Plant Impact said:
“”The company expects this co-location to greatly increase its R&D capacity, resulting in accelerated product innovation and greater tools for arable crop growers in their push for sustainable yield enhancement.”

Chief executive John Brubaker said the move was an “extraordinary opportunity” to work with some of the world’s top crop scientists.

“A move to the Rothamsted campus creates a step-change improvement in our R&D capacity and in our ability to recruit new members of the Plant Impact team.”
