SMART metering firm BGlobal saw sales slump by 37% to £18.4m in the year to March 31 (2011: £29m) as it installed fewer meters, but the firm argued that it had kept a tight control on costs and had increased the amount of recurring revenues built through service agreements.The Darwen-based company declared a pre-tax loss of £870,123 (2011: £721,959) before a one-off credit of £1.5m due to an adjustment in the amount it will pay for Utiligroup.
