Golf's Open proves a fair way to boost tourism

THE four-day Open Golf Championship held at the Royal Lytham golf club on the Fylde coast last weekend brought in around £90m to the local economy, according to tourism chiefs.Economic development bosses at Lancashire County Council estimate that the event was attended by around 200,000 people over the course of the weekend, and was watched by over 500m worldwide.
