GB Oils, the UK's largest heating oil supplier, is to change the way it charges consumers for its contracts following action taken by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

The Warrington-based business, which has 100 depots across the UK, has changed its domestic heating oil contracts ensuring quoted prices do not increase from the time an order is made until the customer is billed on delivery.

When a consumer orders from a supplier, 'spot' prices are quoted that reflect the current market price of oil.
