UP to 220 jobs are under threat after chipboard manufacturer Sonae Industria said it is considering the future of its controversial Knowsley plant.

The Portuguese conglomerate said that long delays to the reconstruction of the factory - which was badly damaged by a fire in June last year - due to "political and planning difficulties" had put its future in jeopardy.
