PRESTON-based Garside & Laycock has been bought by electrical and mechanical engineering firm SPIE UK for an undisclosed sum.

Garside & Laycock has a turnover of £16m and employs 80 people. It specialises in the routine maintenance, reactive and refurbishment service industry within the government and commercial market sectors.

Clients include the Royal Mail, Her Majesty’s Courts Services, Lancashire County Council, University of Manchester and Greater Manchester Police.
