Ant-like technology to cut commuting times

MANCHESTER Business School research on the way ants work together has led to the development of software that could cut traffic congestion.
Its research team has developed a system to help commuters select the best way to travel by giving them live traffic and public transport updates, suggesting alternative routes and highlighting the carbon dioxide output for each option.
