North West sees unemployment decline

THE number of people out of work in the North West fell by 2.4% in the three months to July.According to figures form the Office of National Statistics the number of North West unemployed fell by 8,000 to 316,000 - or 9% of the working population.Nationally unemployment fell by 7,000 during the period to 2.59 million.The number of people claiming Job Seekers' Allowance last month was 1.57 million, down by 15,000 on July.Dr Brian Sloan, chief economist at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce said: "The summer period has been a ver......for the full story register now for free or login below...
