A NORTH West MEP is proposing a shake-up of the way businesses are audited, which include plans to introduce mandatory rotation every 25 years.Sajjad Karim, the Conservative MEP and the party's legal affairs spokesperson in Europe, says there has been an "erosion of confidence in the audit process", and he is keen to tackle "a suspicion in some quarters that some companies enjoy too cosy a relationship with the firms that audit them."Mr Karim presented his plans to the European Parliament Legal Affairs committee this week.The Lanca......for the full story register now for free or login below...
