CLAIRE Black, the boss of family-owned bedding supplier and retailer Trendsetter Home Furnishings,  has scooped a top national award.

She was named Family Business Director of the Year at the Institute of Directors' national Director of the Year awards in London. Other winners included former Marks & Spencer supremo Sir Stuart Rose, who took the Lifetime Achievement Award.
