Property briefs: Booths, The Rock, Eddisons and more
EH BOOTH, the Lancashire-based grocery retailer, has won planning permission for a new supermarket on the site of the Teanlowe Shopping Centre in Poulton-le-Fylde.
The Preston company is working with Eric Wright Construction, also based in the city, on the scheme.
Booths was advised by Steven Abbott Associates.
Partner Steven Abbott said: “This is another pleasing result for Booths and for the town of Poulton. The development, which received huge support from the public, will deliver the investment and improvements the Teanlowe Centre has needed for many years.”
Other advisers included Leach Rhodes Walker Architects, Robert Pinkus & Co, Turner Lower Associates,
Hann Tucker Associates and Integra Consulting Engineers.
Meanwhile law firm Hill Dickinson has advised developer Parkhouse Lakeland on the construction of a new Booths in Milnthorpe.

GVA has obtained full planning permission for a new restaurant quarter in Bury town centre as a final phase of The Rock mixed-use scheme.
Located on the former Sol Viva site, the new scheme will comprise of four new restaurant units with a covered walkway and external seating areas. The project is expected to create around 85 jobs.
Chris Argent, GVA associate, said: “To receive planning permission within five weeks of application submission is testament to the quality of the scheme and collaborative working with Bury Borough Council.
“The restaurant scheme will enhance the vitality and viability of Bury town centre and achieve a quality development in a key transition area between the traditional shopping areas and The Rock development. There is significant demand from national chain restaurants for representation in Bury town centre and the scheme will further enhance the evening economy and importantly the family-orientated leisure offer.”

EDDISONS has attracted 81 lots for its final auction of the year in Manchester on December 4.
The catalogue includes 18 separate properties in Bury, with guide prices from £30,000. The majority of properties are tenanted and produce annual income of up to £5,400.
Andrew Brown of auctioneers’ Eddisons said: “These properties have the potential to generate significant yields and will appeal to both new investors looking for alternative methods of investment and seasoned investors wanting to build their portfolio.”
Other residential highlights include a vacant semi-detached house arranged as five, one-bed flats in need of full renovation, in Crumpsall. The guide price is £110,000 plus.
Meanwhile, in Moston near Manchester city centre, a site comprising a hand car wash and MOT station which produces annual rent of £26,500 is guided at £250,000 plus, a potential return of over 10%.
Elsewhere, an office building in Bootle extending to over 10,000 sq ft has a guide of £170,000-180,000. And a parcel of land in Walton, Liverpool, with potential for redevelopment subject to planning, is guided at £75,000 plus.

RECRUITMENT company First2 Group has signed a 10-year lease with Bruntwood at Delphian North, Riverside in Salford.
First2 Group supports recruitment professionals in niche markets to start up and grow new businesses.
The offices will also house four of its existing recruitment companies – BTG Recruitment, Cherryred Recruitment, Cubiq Recruitment and Perseco Solutions. The firm was advised by lawyers at Turner Parkinson.
Solicitor Helen O’Neill said: “In what remains a difficult economic climate, we are encouraged by the level of tenant instructions that we are receiving in the Manchester office market.”
