Sales growth at JMC IT

SALFORD-based JMC IT has taken on a further 11 staff after enjoying a strong sales performance.

JMC specialises in the design and installation of IT solutions to businesses and other organisations. It now employs 90 staff.

Figures released by the firm for the year to December sales topped £10m, up 38% on the same period last year.

Audited accounts for the year to June 30 show pre-tax profits were static at around £1m on sales of £9.5m, up from £8.9m.

Managing director Andrew Burgess said: “We are extremely proud to be in such a strong position as we end what has been an incredible year for the business and our staff. We hope to continue this strong growth trajectory in the year ahead with new hires already in the pipeline for early 2013.”

He added: “Aside from our financial results, a personal highlight in 2012 for us as a Manchester-based firm was JMC being named Best Employer at the Salford Business Awards in 2012.

“Creating a rewarding, challenging and enjoyable place to work is something we are dedicated to, and this year’s financial results show our holistic approach is working for everybody. We are in a solid position to continue this rich vein of form in 2013.”

Mr Burgess joined two years after the company’s founders sold the business in 1987 to a management buy-in team. He led a secondary buy-out of the company in 2003 and owns around half of the shares, with the remainder being split between the rest of the management team.
