The £10m turnover Knutsford firm has acquired Chester firm HiMedica  for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will allow Crawford to speed-up its its research and development capabilities and bring new products to market more quickly.

HiMedica designs, develops and manufactures medical devices in the skincare and woundcare field and sells products internationally.

Its business is primarily based around silicone gel products for use in anti-scarring. The company also makes and sells a range of foam dressings.

In particular this acquisition will enhance our ability to develop and bring to market new products even more quickly.

“The woundcare and dermatology industries are extremely fast-paced and competitive.  We are committed to being at the forefront of these sectors through our world-class R&D capabilities and this acquisition enables to fulfil this commitment even further.“
