Wigan submits Westwood Park plan

WIGAN Council has submitted plans to build more than 400 homes on the derelict site of the former Westwood power station.

After a number of stalled schemes, the council wants to develop the 44-acre brownfield site into 430 houses with a local centre, and a centre for the Wigan Flashes area of special scientific interest.

The former railway line will become a new access route into the town centre, linking the A49 at Goose Green to the top of Poolstock, and then onto the existing dual carriageway on Riverway.For the full story register now for free or login below...
