Great Places names new CEO

MANCHESTER social housing provider Great Places Housing Group has promoted Matthew Harrison to be its new chief executive.

Mr Harrison, deputy CEO of the organisation, which has homes in the North West, Yorkshire and West Midlands, will replace long-serving Stephen Porter who is retiring in April.

Sheffield-born Mr Harrison said: “This is a fantastic organisation to work for and the staff are committed and passionate about their work. It is a privilege to be given the honour of leading it.

“We already carry out so much excellent work across the group from supporting vulnerable people, to running our own repairs team, managing thousands of properties and developing hundreds of fantastic homes. Now it’s my job to build upon this and achieve even more.”

Great Places chair, Ted Stott, said: “We had candidates of the highest calibre but Matthew’s qualities and passion shone through. He is the right person to lead us in these challenging times and build on the excellent work of Stephen Porter.”
