NOMA backs FutureEverything

FUTUREEVERYTHING, the Manchester-based festival of “ideas and digital invention”, has partnered with NOMA, the Co-op-led regeneration scheme.

The partnership will see the two organisations working together for the next two years as FutureEverything looks to its 20th anniversary in 2015.

NOMA, which will make an undisclosed financial contribution, said it had made the move because “both organisations share common principles and ambitions”, particularly in digital media, technology and social innovation.

Ruairidh Jackson, strategy and development director for Noma, said: “Partnering with FutureEverything is an exciting prospect and a perfect fit for NOMA. Throughout the development of NOMA and its first phase – 1 Angel Square, the new head office for The Co-operative Group – we are adopting some truly leading edge ideas and technology, making the development one of the most forward thinking in the UK and Europe.

“We are creating a whole new quarter in the city of Manchester and we’re looking forward to maximising the potential Manchester has to become a major centre for digital industry and technology. FutureEverything has a long track record of delivering exciting creative and innovative events, bringing the world’s leading thinkers to Manchester to further debate and shape the future.  We are looking forward to joining FutureEverything on its journey to its 20th anniversary.”

FutureEveryhting takes place on March 21-24. It will feature speakers from Google, Vimeo, BBC and Kickstarter.

FutureEverything is also being supported by Manchester Science Parks, law firm Ward Hadaway, Arts Council England, Manchester City Council, New Economy, MIDAS and Marketing Manchester.

NOMA covers 20 acres around Co-op’s new headquarters.
