Bid to extend consent on major Liverpool scheme

AN architect behind a major mixed-use scheme to the north of Liverpool city centre is bidding to extend the planning consent.

Plans for a 200-bed 12-storey hotel, a multi-storey car park, retail and around 240,000 sq ft of offices was first approved at 70 Pall Mall in 2009.

Dylan Jones’ Liverpool-based A2 Architects drew up the original plans which feature a mix of old and new buildings.

It is seeking to keep it alive through a related company called Atelier Management however no developer is currently attached the scheme.

Liverpool’s planning committee is expected to approve the extension when it meets next week. Mr Jones could not be reached for comment.
