Appointments: UKFast; Lloyds; Douglas Scott & more

UKFAST, the Manchester-based data centre and cloud computing group, has appointed Lisa Walton as its head of legal and Miles Allen as director of critical power.

Lisa Walton has several years of legal experience acquired in legal roles within business law, predominantly in-house across a variety of business sectors and private practice. Most recently she worked at ANS Group in Manchester.

As director of critical power Mr Allen, who joins from Sudlows, will oversee the design and development of the company’s buildings including its new Manchester HQ in Hulme.

“With Miles in the team we have the expertise in-house to manage our existing portfolio to the highest standard as well as shape our future.”

LLOYDS Bank has made a number of key appointments at its Complex Deal team in the North. Geoff Durkin has been appointed regional director at the unit which provides specialist advice to companies on debt-funded transactions.

Mr Durkin has appointed Vicki Daly as a director and former footballer Tom Beahon as a manager to the North West Complex Deal Team based at Spring Gardens in Manchester.

Chartered accountant Vicki spent almost a decade with advisory business Deloitte operating within its corporate finance practice before joining Lloyds Bank in 2009.  Mr Beahon was a professional footballer having spells with Tranmere Rovers and also in Spain before joining the bank’s Business Support Unit in 2011.

ALTRINCHAM law firm Neil Myerson has appointed Jonathan Hassall and Catherine Simons to its expanding team.

Intellectual property expert Mr Hassall was most recently a partner at Linder Myers and has joined the commercial litigation department as a senior solicitor.

Catherine Simons, joins the corporate commercial department from the Manchester office of Pinsent Masons.

Managing partner Carl Newton, said: “The appointments of Jonathan and Catherine are in-keeping with our policy of recruiting fee earners who have trained and worked at large city centre or national firms. To keep pace with the expansion of our commercial client base these appointments further increase the firm’s strength in depth.”

MANCHESTER-based legal recruitment agency Douglas Scott, has made two new appointments as part of its expansion drive.

Helen Veitch and Louise Swann have joined the company as trainee recruitment consultants, working in the Yorkshire and London offices respectively.
 
Managing director Kath Riley said: ““We have some quite bold expansion plans in place for the next two years and Louise and Helen join the company at a very exciting time.

“We’ll be appointing another trainee recruitment consultant in London in the next three months and from there seek to further expand, to best serve our busy client base all over the UK.”

HARBUR Construction, the £16m turnover Manchester construction company has hired Philip Newton as business development manager.

Mr Newton joins Harbur from Oce UK Ltd and is a specialist in tendering and procurement management.

He said: “Harbur is in a great position for future growth. We have a very prolific order book for the next two years and have a very sustainable business model.”
