Hotter opens 50th shop and promises more

BUCKING the tough retail sector Lancashire’s Hotter Shoes has now grown from five shops to 50 in just three years.

The new shop which opened in Milton Keynes on Thursday, will be followed by another 20 this year, a move which the Skelmersdale company sasy will create 200 jobs.

Hotter, which is backed by Gresham Private Equity, manufactures all its products in the North West.

Managing director Peter Taylor, who joined the company from Hunter last year said: “”Hotter is all about making our customers feel stylish and comfortable – not just when they wear our shoes, but also when they buy them.

“All of our women’s and men’s products are designed with microscopic attention to detail and our stores are no different.”

Traditionally a shoe maker – and currently manufacturing 1.5 million pairs of a year, Hotter began selling direct to customers in the 1990s and now has a 100 seater call centre, servicing UK and USA customers.
