Countryside Properties shortlisted for Stockport regeneration

COUNTRYSIDE Properties is being lined up to build homes as part of Stockport’s regeneration plans for Brinnington.

The council said today that its executive will be asked to appoint Countryside as the preferred developer when the committee meets on April 2.

Councillors will also be asked to consider a new leisure centre to replace the Life Leisure Lapwing Centre and the relocation of Castle Hill High School to Offerton.

A public consultation into the proposals will be launched on March 18.

A regeneration plan for Brinnington was approved by the council’s executive in March 2011, following extensive consultation with residents.
