NRL Group targets £100m turnover

CUMBRIAN recruitment firm NRL Group is planning acquisitions that will help it achieve sales of £100m this year after completing a £16m refinancing with Barclays.

The Cockermouth-based company specialises in trade and technical staff, in sectors such as defence, IT, nuclear and aerospace, and operates from 11 sites around the UK.

In the year to December sales rose by 21% to £87.9m while gross profits were also up 21% to £8.4m.

The business was founded in 1983 and is owned by Andrew and Hugh Redmayne, who are both still involved in the management of the business.

Group managing director Mike Barber added: “NRL’s growth is very encouraging and is testament to the quality of our existing staff, investment in recruiting and training new people, increasing the number of operating locations and a focus on technology. Our expansion and acquisition plans and will continue throughout 2013 and beyond.”
