Entwistle handed NW leadership role at enlarged BDO

ACCOUNTANTS BDO and PKF have completed their merger, with former PKF partner Tim Entwistle handed the regional leadership role.

The combined firm, which will be called BDO, will have 300 staff in the region with 250 in Manchester and around 50 in Liverpool.

Former BDO Manchester office lead partner Jeff Jones has been handed a key UK-wide role in the combined practice as head of national advisory.

Mr Entwistle, North West lead partner said: “The merger will greatly benefit the region’s professional community. It will provide broader and deeper expertise and international reach for many clients on a local basis, but will also allow staff to gain broader experience from working in an enlarged firm.

“My focus from today is on ensuring a smooth integration of the two firms and continuing delivery of exceptional service to all clients.”

PKF’s 90 Manchester staff will relocate up two floors by July to 3 Hardman Street in Spinningfields.

Simon Michaels, managing partner of BDO said: “It’s time for people to think again about BDO. The merger has transformed our market presence overnight.”
