Liverpool pub to get care home conversion

A PUB in Liverpool is to be converted in to a 64-bed care home.

The Derby Mills pub in Norris Green has been sold by pub operator Spirit Pub Co to Leeds-based LNT Group for around £600,000.

An LNT division valled Ideal Carehomes will now convert the property which already has planning consent.

Colin Siebert, a director at Colliers in Manchester, represented Spirit on the sale. He said: “When instructed by Spirit to sell Derby Mills we were confident of attracting a high level of interest from potential buyers because of the location and size of the site.

“We therefore targeted not only pub operators but also developers, retailers and care home operators. It soon became clear that there was limited demand for continued use of the building so we focused on the alternative users and secured a successful sale to LNT.”
