Kitbag signs Savage as brand ambassador

KITBAG, the Middleton-based sports retailer, has signed former Premier League footballer and media pundit Robbie Savage as a brand ambassador.

Kitbag, which is owned by listed home shopping group Findel, saw sales rise 12%  to £33.7m in the half year to the end of September 2012.

The division operates websites and physical stores for a number of leading sports clubs including Manchester City FC, Chelsea FC and federations including NBA and the NFL in the US.

Savage, who played for Derby County, Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City, Leicester City, Crewe Alexandra and Brighton and Hove Albion has signed a one year agreement to be the face of Kitbag.com and will feature in the many of the brand’s PR campaigns as well as reviewing the products for the website, and featuring in exclusive events for Kitbag customers.

Commenting on his involvement with Kitbag.com, Robbie Savage said: “As a former footballer and a father of young children I take a great interest in the latest sports products on the market and also keep my eye on sporting fashion trends, so Kitbag caters for both me and my family.”
