In with the new at Weightmans

LAW firm Weightmans’ has announced a string of changes as its new leadership team of managing partner John Scorah and senior partner Dan Cutts take the reins.

A fourth business line and a series of internal promotions have been announced alongside new heads for the commercial and insurance teams.

The firm announced in January that Mr Schorah would succeed Patrick Gaul and the Dan Cutts the retiring Ian Evans, and has selected partners Tim Lang and Kieran Jones as their replacements as heads of commercial and insurance respectively.

Also joining the board is partner and head of costs Rob Williams, who has become the head of a fourth business line, ‘Solving Disputes’.

Mr Schorah said: “Solving Disputes is a brand new department set up to directly address the biggest changes to civil litigation we’ve seen in years, introduced by the Jackson Report.

“As a firm we are always evolving. 2013 is becoming a year of huge legal reforms for our clients, and all of our changes gear us up to face the next chapter alongside them.”

In addition to the new management and business line structure, the Liverpool-firm, which offices in Manchester and Knutsford as well as Birmingham, Dartford, Leicester, and London. has announced 19 promotions, including four new partners and 15 new associates.

A 20th promotion is also in the pipeline as the firm waits for confirmation of an ABS licence.
