Appointments: Daisy; Fircroft; Forever Manchester; Lex Autolease & more

DAISY Group, the listed business communications firm, has appointed Nathan Marke as chief technology officer.

He is the former group technology officer of 2e2 and technology and marketing director of Prime Business Solutions.

Last month Nelson-based Daisy bought two data centres formerly operated by 2e2 which went into administration earlier in the year.

Chief executive Officer, Matthew Riley, said: “Nathan’s valuable experience and expertise will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of our technology strategy, as we scale our communications portfolio and expand our service offering to our customers.”

INTERNATIONAL technical recruitment specialist Fircroft has appointed Singaporean recruitment pioneer Dhirendra Shantilal to lead its Asia Pacific division.

The Warrington company, backed by private equity firm Equistone, says  Mr Shantilal will join its board as it seeks to maintain the growth which has seen its annual turnover exceed $1bn.
 
With more than 33 years’ experience in recruitment, Dhirendra was one of the founding partners of Business Trends in Singapore.

Johnathan Johnson, chief executive of Fircroft, said: “Dhirendra’s appointment comes at a landmark moment for Fircroft.  We have expanded rapidly over the last six years, turnover has more than tripled and we now operate in over 45 counties.

MANCHESTER charity Forever Manchester has appointed Paul Haworth to a new role of director of marketing.

Mr Haworth has worked as a consultant to Forever Manchester for the last 18 months helping to develop the organisation’s  ‘Charity… The Mancunian Way’ strategy, and establishing a number of exciting new fundraising initiatives.

Prior to joining Forever Manchester, Paul was the owner of Irwell Marketing and co-owner of brand design agency Transmission Creative.

Forever Manchester chief executive Nick Massey said: “Paul brings a fresh approach to charity marketing along with his passion for the area and a desire to make a real difference to the lives of people across Greater Manchester. This new role highlights our commitment to growing the charity raising essential funds for local communities.”

EXPERIENCED Lancashire businessman Peter Catlow has joined the board of cost reduction company Businesswise Solutions to support its growth strategy.

His appointment comes at an exciting time for the Nelson based business, which is on target to exceed £25m in the first round of buying through its new energy buying group, which is encouraging collaborative buying across Lancashire.

He started work with Businesswise as an adviser and such was his worth, he was invited to join the business at director level.

LEX Autolease, the UK’s largest provider of fleet management services, has appointment of Tim Porter as its new managing director.  

Mr Porter joins Lex Autolease, which has a base in Cheadle, from its parent company Lloyds Banking Group and replaces Rick Francis, who is leaving this summer.

He said: “The opportunity to lead the UK’s largest fleet management provider is very exciting.  Lex Autolease has a great proposition and strong foundations as the clear market leader in this sector.  I’m looking forward to bringing my skills and experience to the company and to working alongside a talented leadership team.”
