Turnover doubles at creative studio NoChintz

DESIGN and branding studio NoChintz is celebrating record turnover of £1.55m after sales more than doubled in the past year.

The Manchester-based outfit said the past year had seen significant progress with its team growing from 13 to 16, project work won in the US for the first time, and the creation of a distinct branding division.

The business, which saw turnover grow from £626,000 last year, was founded in 2007 by Dominic Beardwell, Lucy Goddard and Natalie Gray.

NoChintz operations director Dominic Beardwell said: “We have had a fantastic year and I am delighted that we have broken through the £1.5m barrier.

“It’s a huge increase on previous results and it’s important that we now focus on retaining our sustained approach to growth and reinvest the fruits of the year’s labour back into the business.

“Since we established ourselves in the market in 2007 we enjoyed a rapid period of growth, but my experience is to be prudent and cautious, so rather than accelerate growth further in 2011 and 2012, we concentrated on getting our operations and processes in place and we have now gained ISO accreditation and as well as a Gold Standard for the Investors in People award.

“This strategy is now clearly working for us and we’ve got high hopes for next year with more than £1m of projects already confirmed.”

In the US the company is working for existing client Natural Retreats on projects in Idaho and Virginia.
