Galliford Try reaches financial close on Chapel St

CONSTRUCTION group Galliford Try said it has reached financial close for the first £13.5m phase of the regeneration of Chapel Street, Salford.

The English Cities Fund is behind the development of 83 apartments and 14 houses. It is a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

The scheme is to be called Vimto Gardens as the drink was made close to the site 100 years ago. The factory moved to Old Trafford in 1927 and is now based in Haydock.

Earlier in the month Galliford Try said it had been appointed to build Gary Neville’s hotel at Old Trafford, the second phase of the Soapworks office scheme in Salford and the final part of Muse Development’s Smithfield residential development in Manchester.
