LPC Living promises further £45m for Ordsall

SALFORD City Council has agreed a five-year extension with LPC Living for the redevelopment of Ordsall.

Salford-based LPC Living, which is owned by the Pervaiz Naviede Family Trust, first took on the Ordsall brief in 2006 and is said to have invested £50m, delivering 300 homes, a primary school and Radclyffe Park, a retail centre with a Morrisons supermarket, Travelodge hotel, NHS health centre, and other shops.

The council said the agreement would lead to a further £45m investment, which includes an additional 425 homes, allotments and new public open spaces. It will see the redevelopment of the derelict Ordsall District Centre and the adjacent St Clement’s school site.

Salford City Mayor Ian Stewart said: “This agreement is further good news for Ordsall. Our partnership with LPC Living has already meant millions of pounds of fresh investment into the area, creating new homes and jobs. Five years down the line, we will be in an even better position and Ordsall residents will reap the benefits of our commitment to making life better for them.”

Simon Ashdown, director at LPC Living, said: “The startling transformation of Ordsall into a thriving community has been achieved thanks to the successful collaboration with Salford City Council and local residents. We’re delighted that this partnership will continue for another five years allowing us to tackle a number of key sites to provide quality housing and environmental benefits for those living and working in the area.”
