Appointments: MAG role for ex-Stansted man; Rickitt Mitchell & more

MANCHESTER Airports Group has appointed Tim Hawkins as its corporate affairs director.

Mr Hawkins was previously part of the leadership team at Stansted Airport, which was acquired by MAG for £1.5bn  earlier this year.

Prior to his role as director of regulation and planning at Stansted he held a number of senior positions with BAA.

As corporate affairs director he will lead the group’s participation in the Airports Commission, as well as engagement with key stakeholders including local and central government, key aviation and regulatory bodies and the media.

Meanwhile Finnish aviation executive Kimmo Holopainen will join Manchester Airports Group as head of business development in August.

Mr Holopainen is currently working at Finavia Corporation, which operates Finland’s 25 airports. Prior to working for Finavia he worked for easyJet, with responsibility for commercial contract negotiations with airports and suppliers. At MAG he will report in to Ken O’Toole, chief commercial officer.

CORPORATE finance firm, Rickitt Mitchell has increased its fee-earning team to nine with the appointment of Kaine Smith as an executive.kaine smith rickitt mitchell

Mr Smith joins the Manchester boutique from Ernst & Young where he spent nearly five years, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2011.

MAT Hirst has been promoted to director at Manchester-based debt recovery and asset management services provider, Cerberus Group.

He was previously a business development manager at the company, which he joined after 12 years in banking and finance.

In his new role he will be responsible for leading the business development teams for Cerberus’ asset management and receivables management divisions.

DESIGN agency Pixel8 has made a string of appointments.

The firm, based in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, has beefed up its team with the arrival of Sara Wilson as head of client services, Matt Raynes as a search engine optimisation manager and Andrea Green as a senior account manager.

Wilson joins from 2ergo Group while Raynes and Green were previously at Carat Media and Creative Vein respectively.

The firm has also picked up new business wins with the Kia Bolton dealership, Energy Solutions Group in Altrincham, and Seddon Property Services which it has rebranded as Novus Property Solutions.
