Promotions galore at growing law firm Keoghs

NORTH West law firm Keoghs, which specialises in claims-related legal services to the insurance sector, has unveiled a raft new appointments across its offices.

The Bolton, Manchester and Coventry firm, which is backed by private equity investor LDC, has appointed seven new partners, taking the total  number to 73.

The latest round of appointments also means that the number of associates has risen above 100, whilst continued growth has seen staff numbers at seven offices in Bolton, Manchester and Coventry, rise to almost 1,200.

Elise Ellson is one of a number of appointments as partner to the rapidly expanding Counter Fraud Services (CFS) division of Keoghs.

She joined the team in 2005 and became an ssociate in 2008 and joined the specialist fraud ring team in 2009 as a team leader and is now deputy technical director for motor fraud at Keoghs’ Bolton office.

Another promotion to partner in CFS is Helen Webster, who joined Keoghs on qualification in 1999. She is also based at the office in Parklands, Bolton and is a deputy technical director for motor fraud.

Louise Cruise is another  promotion. A commercial litigator, she joined the firm four years ago ansd is a director of the firm’s  ‘first party’ fraud team.

Andrew Temperley rejoined Keoghs in February 2012 as an associate, having previously qualified as a solicitor with the firm in 1999. He has over 13 years’ experience acting for insurers and dealing with first party issues.  He is currently involved in defending a number of claims which have been litigated against Insurers by policyholders

The firm’s other partner promotions comprise: Eric Woolley; Robert Smith and  Daniel Elder.

Keoghs has also promoted 23 staff to associate. They are: Scott Harwood, Shelley Hawker, Ryan O’Hara, Jonathan Booth, Lisa Fletcher, Andrew Lane, Mark Weston, Denis Garvey, Fiona Shaw, Kirstie Smith, Rebecca Gilbert, Nicola Round, Anna Farrimond-Ackers, Idris Maka, Kirsty Hayes, Marian James-Authe, Danny Newton, Aaron Reynard, Hamida Khatun, Sarah Ruddle, Katie Rose, Amy Goodwin and Michelle Leyland.

Keoghs recently expanded its property portfolio to seven sites with the acquisition of offices space at Bark Street, Bolton, and Peter House, Oxford Street, Manchester as well as an additional office in Binley Business Park, Coventry.
