Appointments: Seddon; Wilson Gunn; Manleys & more

AIM-listed API Group has appointed Heath Thomas as managing director of its Salford-based subsidiary API Holographics.

Mr Thomas, who was introduced to API’s management team by Manchester-based recruitment firm Tindall Perry Partnership, has been working in an interim role there for the last six months, which has now been made permanent.

Prior to moving to the North West, Mr Thomas worked for De L Rue plc where he spent  17 years. API Holographics has annual sales of £14m and 90 staff at its high security manufacturing site in Salford.

CONSTRUCTION group Seddon has strengthened its management team with three new appointments.

Seddon, which has its head office in Farnworth, Bolton, has hired Michael Crawford as technical manager; Craig Edgar as head of quality, compliance and environmental and Gareth Roberts as supply chain manager.

Chief executive Jonathan Seddon said: “This is a time of significant growth for the company nationally with Michael, Craig and Gareth set to play an important part in that continuing expansion. They each bring significant expertise in their fields and will ensure we keep delivering the high-quality, customer-focused and innovative services our clients expect.”

PATENT and trade mark attorneys Wilson Gunn has boosted its Manchester team with the addition of Isabel Gass as a senior associate.

Miss Gass, who has nearly 30 years’ experience in the profession, has spent most of her career working with large global brand portfolios for multi-national companies.  

James Robey, partner at Wilson Gunn said: “We are going through a period of real growth, with companies recognising the importance of protecting their intellectual property – both patents and trade marks. Isabel’s experience of working within multinational companies is a true asset.”

PAUL Fletcher, a sports lawyer, has left Hale-firm IPS Law to join Manleys, a niche media and sports law firm with offices in Chester and London.

In making the move Mr Fletcher has been reunited with founder Mark Manley, with whom he used to work at Brabners in the 1990s.

Mr Fletcher said:  “I’ve enjoyed seven fantastic years with IPS Law as a founding partner of the firm with Chris Farnell, but felt the time was right for a move.  I wish Chris and the excellent staff at IPS Law all the best in the future. I’m really pleased to join Manleys, with the opportunities this presents, and in particular to be working again with Mark.”

Mr  Manley added: “Paul’s a great signing. The fusion of his client base with our existing clients in sport will provide real strength in depth.”
