Boohoo ‘considering flotation’

MANCHESTER-based online fashion retailer Boohoo.com is said to be preparing for a stock market flotation.

According to newspaper reports the business in talks with Manchester-based Zeus Capital about either a trade sale or going public.

Zeus handled last month’s £64m float of Bargain Booze parent Conviviality Retail.

Boohoo has its headquarters on Dale Street in the Northern Quarter and also operates out of a warehouse in Burnley. In the year to February 2012 profits rose 79% from £138,000 to £248,000 on sales of £29m, up 18%.

The business is owned by the Kamani family who have made their fortune from textiles import business Pinstripe Clothing Co.
