Pochin’s submits plans for £50m rural business hub

PROPERTY developer Pochin’s has submitted plans for Cheshire Fresh, a £50m space dedicated to the farming and food industry at its Midpoint 18 business park in Middlewich.

The application outlines a 47-acre scheme which includes a new auction centre, a “food innovation and enterprise centre” and business and office areas.

There is also scope for light industrial and distribution areas, retail, a food court, cafes, restaurants, machinery dealerships, a hotel and leisure.

Frank Marshall and Wright Manley have been signed up to the auction centre, which will cater for livestock, horticultural, fresh produce and plant and machinery sales.

Brian Reay, property director at Pochin Property, said: “Cheshire Fresh will become a vital part of the Cheshire economy, attracting rural businesses and giving growth opportunities to the many independent producers currently operating in the area.

“The occupiers of Cheshire Fresh will be the catalyst for a new focus on the local farming and food industry whilst providing an opportunity for education and training to contribute towards a sustainable Cheshire.”

The design team includes HOW Planning, AEW Architects, David Tucker Associates and Tyler Grange.
