EQUILIBRIUM Asset Management, the independent Cheshire firm, has promoted Mike Deverell to partner.

Mr Deverell, joined the Wilmslow company in 2007 as a client manager. He has set up its investment team and he also developed Equilibrium’s discretionary investment management service.

Colin Lawson, managing partner at Equilibrium, said: “Mike is an impressive investment manager and it’s exciting to have him on the senior board. We will be utilising his expertise and focusing on strategically supporting our operations, whilst expanding the team across the three offices.”

LAWYER Andrea James has left Manchester firm JMW for national practice Shoosmiths, where she is heading its professional discipline team.

At Shoosmiths, which she joins as a senior associate, she will develop its professional discipline offering, which launched last year.

Based at the firm’s Manchester office, the team advises clients on all areas of professional regulation and discipline, acting for doctors, teachers, accountants, police officers and other regulated professionals.

The professional discipline offering is part of Shoosmiths’ national regulatory team headed by partner Ron Reid, who said: “Andrea has built an excellent reputation for herself in this specialist sector, and the sort of clients she’s bringing with her will compliment those we already act for.”

LEE Jones been promoted to partner at Manchester’s Sedulo Accountancy.

Mr Jones. who has been with the firm since 2005, said: “I want to continue to develop the practice and expand our workforce to give other members of the current team the fulfilment and opportunities I’ve been given.”

Sedulo employs 20 people and this year launched a wealth management capability.

HERITAGE restoration specialist Maysand has appointed Alan Jones as  masonry surveyor/ estimator.

Mr Jones, who has been with the Oldham company for six years, will take charge of its masonry surveying team as it builds on a successful year.

He has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry and has successfully managed many prestigious projects for Maysand – including the recent £1.1m refurbishment of Sheffield’s Catholic Cathedral.

Maysand managing director Bryn Lisle said: “Alan fully deserves this appointment because of the high quality of his work over many years. He has the perfect skill set for what is a hugely important role for the company.

“The results Alan has produced on a number of prestigious projects are testament to the quality of his work and explain just why he is held in such high regard by clients.”

ROB Roddy and James Raspin have joined Lancashire-based FI Real Estate Management as asset managers.

The pair will work on major national property portfolios as part of FI’s corporate recovery team headed by associate director Mark Williamson.

Mr Roddy was previously with Prospect (GB) where he led the commercial division and before that he worked for Peel Holdings where he was responsible for acquisition and asset management throughout the UK.
 
Mr Raspin joins from Orbit Developments where he was responsible for a mixed portfolio of offices and retail properties across the North West.

RECRUITMENT specialist Search Consultancy has promoted senior divisional manager Pamela Stokes to the role of associate director at its Manchester office.

In her new role, she will growing and developing the office services and call and contact centre teams, and will also work on developing the organisation’s presence across the city and the North West region.

Pamela joined Search in 2011 and said: “I’m delighted to be taking on the role of associate director and I am really looking forward to growing and developing the office services and call & contact centre teams call and contact centre and office services teams across the region.

BOLTON-based secured loan brokerage company Fluent Money has boosted its team with the appointment of business development managers Emma Ratcliffe and Clinton Perren.
 
Emma joins the team from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, while Clinton has made the move from Key Personal Finance. Both will be responsible for developing relationships with loan introducers and building on the company’s current portfolio.
